KB00040: Event Log Errors

Description

You have seen some errors being logged in the Application Event Log under the source Objective Software. You want to know how to interpret them and what, if anything, to do to correct them.

Resolution

All Objective Software products log their Event Log messages under the source "Objective Software". The Event ID reflects which product is logging the message:

• 1001: MessageMaster Client
• 1002: MessageMaster Server
• 1003: EventMaster Client
• 1004: EventMaster Server
• 1005: Setup

Within each product, each unique Event Log message has a Component, Code and Error. Each product may be composed of several component parts. Component is the name of the part that generated the message. Code is a unique code for that message. Error is the error number that was encountered.

Note: only Error messages are documented. There are many more codes, but they are only Warning or Informational messages, and should be self-explanatory.
