Configuring EventMaster Server
Registry Entries for EventMaster Server
The EventMaster server has a number of configuration parameters that are stored in the registry of all EventMaster server computers. These registry settings control the operation of the EventMaster server.
The registry entry locations given in the table are relative to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Objective Software
| Location | Name | Type | Description |
| Connection Strings\EventMaster-DAL | ConnectString | REG_SZ | The database connection string for the MessageMaster SQL Server database. |
| Connection Strings\EventMaster-DAL | UserName | REG_SZ | The database user for the MessageMaster SQL Server database. |

Console Settings for EventMaster Server
The MessageMaster Console is also used to configure EventMaster Server settings. You access the console by pointing your browser to http://MessageMasterServer/MessageMaster. Click on Management in the menu to get to the main configuration page, and then click on Manage EventMaster to get to the EventMaster Configuration page.
Using the EventMaster Configuration page you can:
- control which Windows Event Log events should be 'excluded', i.e. should not be sent to MessageMaster at all
- control which Windows Event Log events should be 'included', beyond Errors and Security Failures, which are included out-of-the-box
- designate Event Log events as 'critical' indicating that they should be sent in right away instead of waiting for the next interval
This flexibility allows you to customize an event monitoring policy for your specific environment. Since all extracted events are archived (regardless of whether anyone has subscribed to the MessageMaster messages), your organization will have a historical audit trail of events in the enterprise.
For a detailed description of the EventMaster Configuration page and all other pages available in the MessageMaster console, refer to the MessageMaster Console section of the Online Documentation.
