Configuring EventMaster Client

The EventMaster client is a service that runs on your client computers. It has a number of configuration parameters that are stored in the registry of all EventMaster client computers. These entries control its operation.

Registry Entries set on the EventMaster Client

The following registry entries can be set manually, if required.

The registry entry locations given in the table are relative to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Objective Software

Location Name Type Description
Log EventMaster REG_DWORD In case of problems, EventMaster Client can log its activities to an XML log file in the Program Files\Objective Software\Log directory. This file can be sent to support to help troubleshoot problems you may be encountering. To turn on logging, set the value to 1.
Default value: 0 (off)
EventMaster EventLogName LastCriticalRecNum
EventLogName LastRecNum
REG_DWORD This pair of settings exists for each event log on the client machine. They are EventMaster's place-markers, and keep track of which messages have already been sent to the server. They should be left alone. In the case that you wish to have an EventMaster Client send all of the events in its event logs to the server again, regardless of whether they've already been sent or not, you can delete these entries. All events will be sent again, and the entries will be re-created.
